Canada Tourism      9 Dec 99

If you go to http://www.canadatourism.com and then hit Travel Canada, you'll be immersed in an elaborate good-looking site.  How much did this one cost the poor taxpayers?  You'll have to watch the spectacular introduction as the "Skip Intro" button doesn't work.   It's a treat the first time anyway.

Now you get a chance to hit on Canadian Adventure, "where the great outdoors are never far away".  Who wrote this?  Jean Chretien?  Outdoors is "a plural noun but singular in construction", so how about "where the great outdoors is never far away".

There's more. Pretend you would like to find out about skiing.  Eventually you'll arrive at
http://www.travelcanada.ca/travelcanada/eng/subprogram.cfm?SCId=6&CId=2&LId=2&SId=3
The first sentence starts, "You?ll find some of the world's finest skiing...".
